Weekly write up - monitoring
This week according to my schedule i set out to do 2 photo shoots for 2 articles that i will be making, this has been successful and i completed both photo shoots on Tuesday. When doing my photo shoots everything went to plan so i didn't have to consult my contingency plan as both of my models turned up on time and were wearing the correct clothing and makeup for the shoots, and this made everything easy flowing and simple to do. The second thing i set out to do this week was to prepare to start production on my articles, i met my aim and i have installed the right fonts on my computer so that they were ready for production. furthermore i have started and almost completed my beauty article, as i have edited the photographs i want already earlier in the week so this made me want to get straight on with making my double page spreads, although i did not set out to do this i think this is a positive thing and it is good that i have done this, but in doing this i have not had time to continue writing my articles. I am not worried that i haven't stuck to my schedule and done this because i will now do this at the weekend and make sure that i continue writing my second article and finish that off and make a start on my 3rd article. I will make time in my own time to do this and get them both finished. I have also completed my homework of getting some magazines for inspiration to help me create my articles, this is how i have almost completed one double page spread as it helped aid me to create it. Overall i think my client would be pleased with my progress this week as i am making a good start on the production of these magazine articles, although i have not finished my second article i was still being productive and i will make sure i get the second one done for next week and make a start on my third.
I am pleased with my photographs from my photo shoots and here are some of the photographs that i will be using in my article:

Weekly write up - Week beginning 20th January
This week according to my schedule i planned to keep my blog up to date, start writing my first draft for my second article and make arrangements for my photo shoots this weekend and next week. What i have completed is keeping my blog up to date, i have finished my article planning sheets, call sheets and model release forms, which means i have been successful in what i set out to do for the first section of things to do for this week. I finished my documents for this on monday and tuesday, i also did some of this in my spare time. Another thing i had set out to do this week was beginning to write my second article, i have started writing it but so far i have only got 2 paragraphs, in order to get this finished i will work on it in my free lessons and at home if i have any free time available. In my opinion i think i could have done more on my second article but i have been busy with my photography work, but now that i have that under control i will be able to focus more on the article. The last thing i set out to do was making arrangements and organising times and places for my photo shoots, furthermore i have got items of clothing ready to photography for this weekend for my fashion article and i have been in touch with models so that they know where to be and when in preparation for my photo shoots next week. I have also printed out my photo shoot plans ready for next week so that i can have them handy ready for the shoots. Therefore i would say this week has been quite successful for what i set out to do and complete. I think my client would be pleased with the progress i have met this week because i have completed and started everything i said i would do, this shows i can keep a steady working pace and not drop behind, which is a positive. Finally i am not worried about any other work as i believe due to my schedule i will be able to get everything done in time if i follow it correctly and devote some of my spare time to it if i get behind on other subjects that i may need to spend more time on.

Schedule monitoring log
3 hour exam - 14th January 2014
According to my schedule i had planned to get my blog up to date as much as possible during my exam. i have also planned to write 1 article, i have successfully met this aim and completed 1 article ready for my DPS. everything during this 3 hour session has gone to plan as my schedule has helped me to be organised in what i need to do. i have managed to get my blog up to date as much as possible, with a few things that still need to be done. i will finish what i need to get onto my blog by the end of this week and then i will put it on as soon as possible. The 3 hour exam has been useful for me getting what i wanted to do done. i will be working when i am free in college this week to get the rest of my blog up to date according to the checklist. I am not worried about any of my work or progress as i believe the schedule is helping my get it all done on time, although my blue folder needs to be looked at as i am unsure if i have everything that i need within it. i will get my folder checked this week and then i will do what i need to do for that if there is anything missing.

What i have done this week - schedule
Week beginning 6th January
This week i have managed to get everything done that i wanted to do in my schedule in order to keep up to date and keep a steady working pace. i believe this week i have met my aims without any problems as i got my work done easily and on time. I have completed 3 photo shoot plans in order to make my photo shoots organised, so that i and my models both know what will happen. furthermore i have researched on the interest by looking at clothing websites to find out if they are still selling clothing which was popular in the eras of the 80's and 90's, form my research i have found of that they are still selling these types of clothes, this makes my article accurate. The last thing in my schedule for this week was to write 10 contingencies for my photo shoot in order to know what could go wrong and how i will prevent these things from happening, i also made back up plans in doing this in case anything does go wrong, so i will not have to worry about things going wrong and being behind. From doing these pieces of work this week i feel more organised in what i am going, which is a positive.

Material to be shot: models will be looking confident and happy as this article is about being confident with who you are and not comparing yourself to models in high fashion magazines who are using the ‘perfect image’ which is something we all aim to be. Describe in detail your make-up & costume needs. For this photo shoot I will be using makeup on my models to make them look and feel good. This is so that people reading his who I want to inspire can look at this people and think to themselves that they can look and be like high fashion models in magazines they see, whilst staying the way they are and feeling good about it. The makeup will be subtle but will look good, makeup such as;
The costume needs for this photo shoot will be casual wear so that the article doesn’t come across as something not all of the readers can reach and do themselves. I will also makeup sure my models are in colours primary colours so that the article appeals to both genders and also colours such as black and white.
Studio shoots - what kind of lighting? For this photo shoot I will be using broad lighting so that my models are highlighted and look to be important. This will also create a lighter feel to my article and models as they have light focused on them and the background will be darker. Broad lighting:
Backdrop: I will experiment with both black and white backdrops.
Lighting equipment needs: I will need one main light and a reflector to reflect the light onto one side of my models. Drawing of studio layout:

Photo shoot plan - What do your tattoos say about you?
Photo shoot planning document
Date and time of photo shoot:
Wednesday October 23rd 2013 – 11:50
Material to be shot: model looking natural and happy with who she is. Show off tattoos. Close up tattoo photographs.
What personnel do you need?
Lighting assistant: hired lighting assistant
Makeup assistant: no makeup artist.
Models: Margaret Newlands
What props will you need? None.
Describe in detail your make-up & costume needs. My model will be wearing casual wear, this is so that we see her for who she is and not someone dressed up to take photographs of. I want to get the natural feel across because this article is about being who you are and self-expression. Furthermore although I want my model in casual wear I would like her in clothing such as shorts or a skirt, this is so that I can take photographs of her tattoos on her legs, this will also show them off and the readers will be able to see more of her tattoos, which is again what the article is about so want to show this as much as I can. In terms of my models makeup I want it to be how she normally wears it this is so we can see who she is and how she chooses to express herself through fashion, makeup, beauty and tattoos.
Studio shoots: what kind of lighting? For this For this photo shoot I will be using butterfly lighting. I have chosen this because it highlights the model more and is good for photographing women especially.
Backdrop: I will experiment with using two backdrops both black and white then using either one in the final article production. Lighting equipment needs: When using butterfly lighting in my photo-shoot I will have to use specific lighting equipment, which is one key light that is positioned high up so it is almost pointing down on my model. And one fill light which is placed head height of my model to highlight her further.

What’s your back up plan?
Models don’t turn up I will ring my models the day before my photo shoot to remind them when the photo shoot is and to also make sure they know when it is. I will make sure I choose reliable people as my models so they don’t let me down.
Camera’s not available I will make sure that i book a camera in advance to my photo shoot so that I’m not left without a camera on the day I need it.
Blurry photographs I will make sure my camera is in focus before starting my photo shoot by doing a tester photograph beforehand on my model. I will also stop half way through my photo shoot to check my photographs are in focus.
Props disappearing I will make sure if I need props that they will be kept in a safe place, and I will also make sure I have them the day before the photo shoot so if I need to replace them I have one extra day to do this.
Models not turning up in correct costume I will ring my models the day before my photo shoot to remind them what I need them to wear for my shoots. I will also bring in spare clothes for them to wear as a backup.
Computers crashing after spending a long time on work I will make sure that when putting my photographs onto a computer and editing them I regularly save my work so I don’t lose all of it if the computer crashes.
Camera running out of charge I will make sure that my camera is fully charged by checking it before I go into my shoot. I will also make sure I charge the battery the night before is necessary.
Not enough time to do photo shoot I will make sure that before I have my photo shoot I have a photo shoot plan so I know exactly what I need to do without messing around and wasting time. I will also show my models what poses I would like them to do so they also know what they are doing.
Turning up to shoots without a tripod I will make sure that I book a tripod in advance to my photo shoot to ensure that I will have a tripod on the day that I need it. I will also check that my tripod is still booked for my photo shoot the day before I need it.
Running out of network space Before I need to put my photographs onto my computer I will make sure the day before that I clear my network space of work that isn’t needed in order to make more room for my Dps work.
